How will it work?

The facility will use three different sorts of fuel:

1. Biomass - wood chips from a variety of sustainable sources.

2. Recovered wood.

3. A solid recovered fuel - a fuel produced by removing metal, glass and plastics from commercial and household waste for recycling and then shredding and sorting the remaining materials (mostly organic matter) to create a fuel.

The fuels will be combusted in the facility under closely controlled conditions set and regulated by the Environment Agency.

There are opportunities for fuels to be delivered to site by water and road.

The sourcing of fuels are varied. For example household waste will be sourced from the local area. Commercial waste, SRF and recovered wood will be sourced from further afield. Sustainable biomass may be sourced from international markets.
